Instructors

Eric Grove, head instructor of PA-Grappling, submission wrestling and mixed martial arts

Eric Grove

has been training in submission grappling and MMA since 1993, though he is the first to admit "putting in time doesn't make you better --Truthful training does!"  .

Eric successfully competed in combat grappling, mixed martial arts, and bare-knuckle fighting throughout the 90's, achieving numerous National level titles and championships, retiring from competitive training and formal competition in 2000.

Eric's formal MMA record was 12-1 (and this was back when you could only get 2-3 fights per year!).  Eric's first fight was against a national caliber Muay Thai fighter who also trained in submission.  Most got tougher as he moved on!

Eric has trained with many noteworthy martial artists including

  • BJJ master Lloyd Irvin (coach of UFC fighter Brandon Vera)

  • Sambo master Gokor Chivichyan (coach of UFC fighter Karo Parisyan)

  • Olympian Rhadi, "the Judo Machine" Ferguson

  • 3-time Olympic team member Mark Densberger

As of 2000, Eric achieved a 4th Black in Combat Sambo, a Brown in Judo, and a Purple in BJJ.

Darren Cassidy, nationally ranked muay thai fighter

Darren Cassidy

has been training and competing in Boxing and Kickboxing since the early 90's.  Darren has fought all over North America, and has trained with such notable fighters as Alex Beck, Ryan Madigan, Mark Miller, Rick Roufus, and Phil Nurse.

Darren fought in the "Battlegrounds" series in NJ, and represented Team USA, winning in Barbados in the "Lords of the Ring" team tournament.

  • Darren is currently Ranked #8 Internationally in Muay Thai by IKF (ikfkickboxing.com)
